While the Model Y dropped back from the incredible high of 5560 sales and second outright in June , it was still only beaten in the sales race by the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux utes and the cheap and cheerful MG ZS SUV. Chinese cars sit number three behind Japan and Thailand in terms of popularity in Australia.

Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo at lowest ride height 466km: Genesis GV60 AWD, $110,700 Not cheap, but the Genesis GV60 compact SUV with a motor over each axle and 77.4kWh battery is refined, fast, comfortable and laden down with gear. Not cheap, but a 95kWh battery, 446km range and 150kW DC fast charging are wins.

Avatar E11 – a new brand with big dreams, Avatar has input from Huawei and CATL and is the product of Chinese car maker Changan. BYD – Chinese car maker (the name means Build Your Dreams) has huge plans for Australia, including a range of SUVs and a sports sedan. It’ll be on sale in 2025, possibly as the A9 e-Tron.

Tesla will comfortably outsell Lexus, Honda, Jeep and others with its Model Y a chance to be the top seller among electric vehicles (December sales figures will confirm whether it overtakes the Model 3 for overall the overall 2022 sales leader ). It was also a year of EV milestones. The EV I’m most looking forward to in 2023.

It won’t be cheap, but Audi’s e-Tron GT and its more potent RS e-Tron GT sibling promise big performance. Lexus RZ450e. 2023 Lexus RZ 450e. Why hes banking on an obscure Chinese electric car company and a CEO who - no joke - drinks his own battery fluid. The E6 will hit the Chinese market later this year. I also think it will be cheap, which is why I think someone will buy the group. ↓ ↑ report 12 Throwback 11:29AM (4/23/2009) Envi includes the GEM entries. I think electric cars are the furture and this unit has some real world experience. Or maybe just snap up the engineers.
