A new all-electric Porsche is on its way. The Porsche Cayenne EV was caught testing in the Alps ahead of its official debut. From the first look, the new Porsche Cayenne EV looks almost identical to the new Macan EV. The fullyelectricCayenne is expected to be the fourth EV to join the luxury automaker’s lineup.
The fullyelectric Porsche Boxster is almost ready for its debut. With Weissach package added, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.1 After finally revealing the all-electric Macan EV earlier this year, Porsche will begin deliveries in the second half of 2024. It starts at $230,000.
The Macan is a compact luxury SUV that has been a staple in the Porsche lineup for the last decade, positioned behind the larger Cayenne. In that time, Porsche has launched multiple variants, including the Macan Turbo, but no electric versions. Maximum torque is 415 lb-ft and the base model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.4
The electric Macan is Porsche’s second EV, after the Taycan and the first fullyelectric SUV to wear the iconic badge. The Macan EV is also the first existing Porsche model to receive an electric upgrade. It was right behind the Cayenne (also due for an EV upgrade) with 87,553 deliveries and Porsche’s second-best seller.
Now its the compact Macans turn as it morphs into the Macan Electric. I recently drove the 2024 Macan Turbo Electric one of Green Car Reports Best Car To Buy 2024 finalists and found that the transition of Porsches top-selling vehicle to fullyelectric power has its plusses and minuses for dynamics, as energy efficiency of course skyrockets.
