Ecometrica analysis pegs average UK EV emissions at 75 gCO2/km; varies by country

The average emissions for an electric vehicle in the UK are 75 gCO 2 /km, when CO 2 emissions at the power station are taken into account, according to an analysis by Gary Davis, Operations Director and chief greenhouse gas (GHG) analyst at Edinburgh-based carbon accounting firm Ecometrica. see figure below).

Initial Results of UK EV Driver Study Show Increased Confidence and Low Cost Recharging

The data analyzed by Aston University combines and compares the behavior patterns of 25 Mitsubishi i-MiEV drivers over two consecutive quarters. The average charge time per i-MiEV vehicle is two hours. The average cost to trial participants for recharging at home is between 25p and £1 (US$0.40 and $1.60) per day.
