KCL study finds London air pollution from traffic improving, but continues to exceed limits in many parts of city

Researchers looked at changes in a number of pollutants including nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ), particulate matter as fine (PM 2.5 ) and coarser (PM 10 ) particles, carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and black carbon. Fitting new exhaust clean-up technology to older buses helped to curb nitrogen dioxide along some of London’s roads.
