Chrysler unveiled the all-new 2017 Pacifica minivan in both conventional and plug-in hybrid versions at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The PHEV is the minivan segment’s first. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Duke Energy and FPL Group will begin this transition in the coming years with the goal that 100% of all new fleet vehicles will be plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) by 2020. Currently, the only near-term options for available PEV supply are sedans, minivans, vans and a few bucket trucks.

This includes recent announcements of $643 million to produce a new engine for conventional and PHEV applications, a next-generation eight-speed transmission and a gigafactory joint venture with Samsung SDI. Since 2020, Stellantis has invested nearly $3.3 billion in Indiana to support its transition to electrification.
