Got to prove you are awake by touching the wheel, but you can buy a weight on Amazon to hang on the wheel to get round that. But now they are in San Francisco, a very difficult city with all kinds of crazy intersections. The power grid is important, maybe the most important, but it’s difficult to prove to people it’s vulnerable.

We just had one that happened in Germany and [another] in the San Francisco Bay area. Without connectivity, you cannot really integrate transportation with the power grid. They can actually go and buy equipment from multiple vendors, put it together and it works. It’s a must.

There are at least a half dozen different technologies to power cars with electricity under construction. Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. Duh, heres our $40K volt, buy it please? They will not meet my needs.
