Shell Opening First Cluster of Hydrogen Filling Stations in NYC Area

Shell buys the majority of hydrogen for its filling stations from third parties. However, Shell does produce hydrogen from electricity on site (via electrolysis) in three of its stations (Santa Monica, CA; White Plains, New York; and Reykjavik, Iceland). These are in Tokyo, Reykjavik, Shanghai, Washington DC, Los Angeles and New York.

Shell currently buys the majority of its hydrogen from third parties although it does produce hydrogen from electricity on site in three of its stations - one in Santa Monica, CA, another in White Plains, NY and a third in Reykjavik, Iceland. The three filling stations in New York will be within around 30 miles of each other.
