The Times Online reports the British government's Department for Transport (DfT) has conducted a safety test on the all-electric Reva G-Whiz and found it wanting. Conservative MP Boris Johnson blogs "Banning the G-Wiz sums up Labour" in a most amusingly perverse Tory manner about the issue. They want to ban it, of course.

The European Association for Battery Electric Vehicles -Going-Electric -has written an open letter to Transport Secretary, Geoff Hoon following the announcement of a £250m programme of support for electric vehicles. According to Going Electric’s own research, EVs make the most sustainable form of motorised road transportation.
