Until recently, the residents of Melamchi, Nepal, cooked meals and heated water for bathing over a wood-burning stove. The project in Nepal was supported by funds Kiani raised through the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. Not surprisingly, the leaders said their priorities were access to reliable electricity and hot water.
