In our last Eldorado entry , we discussed the exterior differences between Cadillac’s standard Series 62 convertible and the limited production Eldorado. There were interior differences too, though they didn’t quite add up to the “specially designed instrument panel” claim in the marketing. Brand hierarchy indeed!

While EV market share has grown, there are still hurdles for greater EV adoption. Pretty Nice" is fine for Buick, since that's supposed to be entry-luxury brand bridging the gap between Chevy and Caddy. Cadillac once said it would be all-electric by 2030, but like other automakers, it has appeared to soften that commitment.

Joined that year by the Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Fiesta and Buick Roadmaster Skylark, the trio represented GM’s new high-cost, low-volume halo convertible experiment. The platform was mostly used for Cadillac and Buick vehicles, along with the largest Oldsmobiles, and a couple of Pontiac and Chevrolet wagons later in history (1970s).

The “Golden Five” was just a marketing tactic, however.
