British motor magazine Autocar reports that Toyota is working on a sporting coupe version of its Prius as a direct competitor to the sporty Honda CR-Z. Although it was formerly thought that Toyota had rejected the idea of expanding the Prius range, Honda's ongoing struggle to claw back more hybrid market-share has apparently.

The QED has an all-electric range of 200-250 miles ( 333-417 km) and has a total range of about 932 miles (1,500 km). Two vehicles have been produced to demonstrate what can be achieved using the companies in-wheel motor technology. The car accelerates from 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
