Since the Cube is 200 lbs heavier than the final body of the EV, it should be a bit quicker still. This is before the $7,500 federal tax credit. The gamble is that Nissan could grab the EV market and dominate it until BYD (China) enters the U.S., I can only assume they have not spent any appreciable time in a well made EV.

If they force noice makers on Hybrids and EVs, this will be yet another break down in common sense. My friend (same one who made the ice cream truck sound effect comment to me) asked me if this was some kind of conspiracy from gasoline advocates to try and further delay mass acceptance of EVs. If cost is an important consideration, than charging your EV at home is a no-brainer as it cuts out any profit-hungry middlemen. Many future owners may be driving EVs in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint and charging at home could give them the opportunity to control the source of the energy that goes into their car.
