This Chinese luxury 4×4 weighs in at a morbidly obese 3110kg, is longer than a Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, and, thanks to its twin-turbo V6 petrol/electric motor combo, delivers a beastly 386kW and 800Nm.

I don’t know about you, but when I picture climate warriors – the kind who’ll chain themselves to things, get arrested, become Senators and then realise that changing the system is about as effective as attempting to save polar bears by sleeping naked on ice – I don’t see them driving Bentleys that cost $456,000.

Surround it with electric motors to create the most powerful road car on the market. Just as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are working to phase out their V12 engines, Lamborghini has spent big bucks on a new engine. Electric motors, on the other hand, are usually upwards of 90 percent efficient.

The British luxury car manufacturer Bentley has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030 and planning to release their first electric vehicle in 2025. Luxury brand Bentley’s transition to an all-electric line-up begins in Australia in November when its first plug-in hybrid EV arrives. The Flying Spur plug-in hybrid sedan , priced from $479,100 (plus on-road costs), will be followed within 12 months by a PHEV version of the Bentayga SUV. Bentley Bentayga Hybrid.

The Model S is the best-selling plug-in car in the U.S. The only upgrade is the Plaid version that features even faster acceleration from three motors, producing sub-two second 0-60 runs.
