The benefit of a higher voltage connector has nothing to do with the speed at which the battery will charge it has to do with the conductor size. Neutral Templarian @ Apr 19th 2009 4:30PM Good to hear, hopefully GM has already started to use this for the Volt. The US standard is 120V@60hz the UK standard is 240V@50Hz.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.
