Volkswagen , Nissan , and Hyundai have moved to produce the kinds of cars that can use such bidirectional chargers—alongside similar vehicle-to- home technology , whereby your car can power your house, say, during a blackout, as promoted by Ford with its new F-150 Lightning. It’s yet to be shown clearly why that’s good for the driver.

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator.
