Some of the new and updated models, such as a battery-powered version of Geelys Panda hatchback, may hit the market as early as October, and in some cases they might carry price tags low enough for farmers and other rural residents with limited financial means. BYD has said it is aware of these issues and is working resolve them.

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. Blending the MPG of SUVs and small cars understates the real consumption and rewards automakers for building gas hogs and unsafe micro cars which makes people want to buy "safe" gas hogs. Way to go morons.
