EEA: average CO2 emissions from new cars and new vans in Europe increased again in 2019

EEA said that one reason for the increase in car emissions is the growing share of the sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. The market penetration of electric cars remained slow in 2019. The mass increase was observed for all vehicle segments (small, medium, large regular cars, and SUVs) and for both gasoline and diesel cars.
