Testing of the Alpha Fuel Cell System will involve Linc Energy using a simple membrane gas separation process upon the UCG gas to ensure a satisfactory hydrogen mix feed gas is available for the Alpha System Fuel Cell. In order for low-cost electricity from coal-fired power plants to remain available, the DOE said, economical methods for capturing and storing the greenhouse gas emissions from these plants must be developed. University of Wyoming , Laramie, Wyo. Coal supplies nearly 50% of domestic electricity.
