The first of Hyundai’s Tucson Fuel Cell CUVs arrived in Southern California; first retail sales are expected in the next few weeks. The fuel cell vehicles will be available at three select southern California Hyundai dealers: Tustin Hyundai; Win Hyundai in Carson; and Hardin Hyundai in Anaheim.

According to figures gathered by the US Department of Energy (DOE), cumulative US sales of fuel cell vehicles from June 2014 through September 2017 are 2,748 units, spread across three available models. 2015 also saw the world’s first fuel cell vehicles for sale. To further this emerging market, DOE also announced a notice of intent ( DE-FOA-0001411 ) to invest $30 million, subject to appropriations, to advance fuel cell and hydrogen technologies. All of this points to a hydrogen and fuel cell market that continues to grow rapidly.
