The hybrid models available today use lead-acid ornickel-metal hydride batteries that are are proven, reliable, and fairlycheap, but their limited storage capacity means that the cars’ driving rangeusing electricity alone is short. Witha 60-mile range, most felt the need to recharge after 30 miles or so.

BYD , for examples, says their 60 mile range-extended vehicle can add 30 miles of range in ten minutes. Most charge points available today take much longer to re-energize batteries than it does to fill a gas-powered cars tank. I would prefer to recharge at home, and could do so. It does not reflect well upon you.
