A new study by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has found that there are currently 6.2 million trucks, Poland has the largest truck fleet, followed closely by Germany (1,010,742) and Italy (946,393). The average age of light commercial vehicles in the EU is 11.6 being battery electric.

Weighing in at only 83 kg, the compact and light-weight system achieves a power output of 150 kW and a maximum torque output of 3,900 N·m. Although the traction motor system will be launched in the Chinese market first, Nidec plans to make the product available to European automobile manufacturers as well in the near future.

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has published new data demonstrating the correlation between the market uptake of electrically-chargeable vehicles (ECVs) and both GDP and customer incentives. Five EU member states don’t offer any incentives at all: Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta and Poland.
