In recent months, the agencies have had important discussions with many individual automobile manufacturers and other stakeholders, and our intention is to continue such discussions.

Higher Voltage Stop-Start/Belt Integrated Starter Generator (BISG): provides idle-stop capability and uses a high voltage battery with increased energy capacity over typical automotive batteries. This motor/generator uses the engine to either charge the battery or supply additional power to the drive motor.
