Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Just hope that we switch over to HHO (Hydrogen-Hydrogen-oxygen) gas before the "Battery thing" gets out-of-control.
