Intake and exhaust variable cam timing (VTC) is deployed to provide an excellent balance of high power, torque, fuel economy, and emissions. Addition of two oil “rooms” within the transmission housing for more efficient and higher-capacity cooling. The structure is similar to those found in some Honda racing engines.
