Engineering proptypes enjoy a tax break. Companies can not sell engineering prototypes in which the company got R&D tax breaks in developing the product. If no one wants your car (because people think it sucks), then no one will buy it, regardless of how good the fuel economy may or may not be. Its a damn shame.
