Underneath the e-fuels banner, Audi also includes renewable electricity for recharging its e-tron vehicles (“e-power”) and, should the market so require it, “green” hydrogen (e-hydrogen, derived in the e-gas process). The pilot plant is also demonstrating that industrialization of liquid Audi e‑fuels is also possible.

National pilots Using CNG, like TNT Germany, has many benefits on local air quality but is only a temporary solution, because it doesnt solve the problem of CO2 emissions. In the Netherlands TNT is still piloting EVs.

Volvo Ford-owned company exploring PHEVs "ReCharge" flex-fuel series 60-mile concept PHEV w/wheel motors. announced a partnership with utility Southern California Edison to test a fleet of rechargeable electric vehicles and said it expected to sell such plug-in hybrids within the next decade if battery technology keeps pace.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem. Many others are not so careful. . |
