At Kia, June gross sales rose 8 % to 70,495, capping a primary 1/2 that produced document deliveries of 394,333, up 18 %.

Duplicitous doublespeak has become de rigueur dialect in the auto industry. “We We strongly believe in EVs,” say auto dealers as they support efforts to slow the EV transition. The startup carmaker Rivian was founded a decade ago by RJ Scaringe, but it didn’t go public with its electric pickup truck and SUV until the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The company says more than 50,000 people have put down cash for reservations in the sales queues for both the pickup and the SUV that will follow shortly.

To try and understand and document all of the key proposed revisions, I combed through the Rules Committee text of H.R. Notes: SUVs are not defined, but presumably this category includes crossovers. With caps on vans, SUVs and pickups at $80,000 the proposed revisions fundamentally fails these two goals. More on this below.
