I write a column for the Electric Auto Association newsletter, Current EVents. The plan calls for 39 mpg for cars and 30 mpg for light trucks and SUVs by 2016; no automaker lawsuits; and California subscribes to the national program through 2016. Here's my June column. The trajectory remains clear, and the pace has quickened.

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) USA unveiled the FT-CH dedicated hybrid concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Toyota believes these are hurdles that will be cleared. In the early 2010s, Toyota plans to sell a million hybrids per year globally, a majority of those in North America.

Though the scheme proved so popular that the initial $1billion set aside for it ran out last month, auto sales only rose by 2.4 However, its overall merits are open for debate after a study by UC Davis transportation economist Christopher Knittel questioned the implied costs of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

zenncars.com ) and Miles Electric Vehicles ( milesev.com ) -- both of which I have used and enjoyed -- certaintly consumer auto behavior will eventually adjust to the sustainable energy driving experience which yes, generally will not reach high speeds etc. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius. They will not meet my needs.
