And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. And indeed, that’s how promoters of vehicle-to-grid technology perceive the EV.

Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid. Recent announcements demonstrate that electric utilities and some auto makers want to make V2G a reality. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

When most of America will be reluctant to buy a GM car because the company might go bankrupt how the hell did those in charge think bailing them out was a good idea? A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. This is true, irrespective of the merits of the Volt.
