A thinking person should ask, “How did the Leaf owner travel the unaccounted miles, the ones that were not e-miles?” In the past the auto industry has responded to incentives and guidelines set by government agencies and reengineered their product to meet this requirement. But the real story is yet to be told.

Innovation appears to be Mr. Wang’s personal passion. The government will make direct grants to automakers (as we do, of course) and also provide “subsidies of up to $8,800 are being offered to taxi fleets and local government agencies in 13 Chinese cities for each hybrid or all-electric vehicle they purchase.” You are not logged in.
