Ansys releases pre-lockdown global survey on vehicle electrification

Before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, engineering simulation software company Ansys commissioned a global survey of 16,037 adults resulting in some insights about consumer attitudes toward vehicle electrification. Conversely, 39% of respondents would only buy an EV if gasoline-powered vehicles were no longer available.

Markets were significantly hit in Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, Greece and Portugal, where the combined volume fell from 634,600 units in March 2019 to 161,800 units last month. MG (owned by the Chinese SAIC) was the only group to post an increase in registrations, with its volume jumping from 1,327 to 2,592 units.
