Electric car company Aurica Motors, which plans to retool the NUMMI plant in California to build not only electric cars but compatible battery charging stations ( earlier post ), has entered two partnerships in support of its mission. Motive develops concept vehicles for major automakers such as Dodge, Hyundai, Suzuki, Chrysler, and Toyota.

Every kWh/m of energy consumption that can be shaved makes the car cheaper (needing fewer battery cells to go the same distance), lighter (less battery weight) and more efficient (less weight means lower rolling resistance).

The base credit will be $4,000 for a PHEV with a battery of at least 5kwh. A 15 kwh battery would have an approximate all-electric range of between 40 and 60 miles depending on the configuration of the vehicle operating system and many other factors.

Though the model is not production-ready, we can expect the production model without much change from this concept. . BMW CE04 boasts a futuristic eye-catching design and it is an evolution of the Concept Link, which was released in 2017. The battery pack is housed within the floorboard, resulting in a lower centre of gravity.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Showed BlueZERO E-CELL PLUS series PHEV concept in December 08. Batteries not ready. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs.
