The Pacifica Hybrid has a regenerative braking system, which recharges the 16-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion (li-ion) battery. So driving around town, stuck in stop-and-go rush hour highway traffic, or coasting down hills recharges the battery. The battery recharge and electric mile range are metered instantly by dash gauges.

Mercedes-Benz is rolling out its EQ models and that brand has huge luxury equity. For more affordable EVs, the Volvo brand has big plans to expand its lineup, and already offers the XC40 Recharge crossover. News: Mercedes EQC 400 EV Debuts. The Audi E-tron is another luxury competitor, but I haven’t had any seat time in it yet.
