The Driving Experience Clean Fleet Report drove the 2024 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S AWD with dual electric motors that produced a peppy 0-60 mph in 4.9 All-wheel-drive models offer Traction mode, which is intended for driving on loose or slippery surfaces and features permanent all-wheel drive up to speeds of around 12 mph.

Acceleration was peppy, in the mid-five-second range to 60 mph, which is about two seconds faster than the single motor rear-wheel drive ID4. Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee factory has begun production, and soon will be sending ID4 RWD and ID4 AWD models to dealers in Mexico, America and Canada starting next summer.

A big benefit that is included in the purchase of a 2023 ID4 is three years of unlimited 30-minute fast charging with Electrify America (another VW company) at any of its 1,800 charge stations in the United States or Canada. The ID4 Pro S AWD and its dual electric motors produced a peppy 0-60 mph acceleration in the mid-five second range.
