Electrify America and the City of Sacramento announced new projects that will increase access to zero-emissions vehicles (ZEV) in the Sacramento region, expand ZEV technology use, and prepare the City for future electric vehicle adoption. The enhanced route will start in 12 to 18 months once the electric bus manufacturer begins deliveries.

The PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), a subset of the electric car, combines a primary electric motor with a much smaller back-up engine fueled with a hydrocarbon/biofuel mix. (In In this paper PHEV refers solely to the long-range PHEV of 60 miles (100 km) electric-only range.) It is much more than that.

There are proponents of each method and, though all three could be used, it is possible that one or more might never make it in the real world or that another method might come to the fore. Of course, everything has its drawbacks and one problem with charging at home is that it is not an option available for some city dwellers.
