Mercedes-Benz to set up EV production in US, battery plant; $1B investment in Alabama

The company plans to produce EQ-branded SUV models at MBUSI (Mercedes-Benz US International), its Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility. Final details of the plans are still being worked on in partnership with the State of Alabama. Mercedes-Benz will set up electric vehicle production in the United States.

Lockheed Martin invests in Peloton Technology and truck platooning

Lockheed Martin has joined a $17-million investment round in Peloton Technology , a developer of truck platooning systems, co-led by DENSO International America and Intel Capital ( earlier post ). Demonstrations and fleet pilot deployments in additional states will be held later this year.
