Navigant suggests that, since the automakers have already designed the vehicles that they will be selling in 2018, they will become more vocal in 2014 to push for changes; the firm expects the dispute to escalate, perhaps resulting in legal action. Tesla is also readying the Model X, a more affordable crossover for launch by the end of 2014.
