ComEd will replace end-of-life internal combustion vehicles with plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, reducing fuel and maintenance costs and creating savings that will be passed on to customers. ComEd powers the lives of more than 4 million customers across northern Illinois, or 70% of the state’s population.

These initial 125 EVs will be maintained at Ryder’s state-of-the-art maintenance facilities within the California, New York, and Illinois markets where EV charging stations are being installed. Ryder also plans to equip its maintenance facilities in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and San Jose, Calif.
