Exceeding its initial program targets, the plug-in 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid ( earlier post ) has earned an electric-mode fuel economy rating of 84 miles-per-gallon-equivalent (MPGe) from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The intention is to make the company’s two electric car offerings more attractive to consumers, especially those that are looking for an affordable alternative to a gasoline-powered car. Chevrolet announced this week that its 2023 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are going to get major drops in price. Same car, less cost. Bolt EV $26,595 ($32,495).

The fueling process is fast and easy and a FCEV operates exactly like a gasoline-powered car, but with no noise, exhaust fumes or emissions. If you can fill a tank with gasoline, then you will have no problems with hydrogen. Hydrogen prices fluctuate in a broader range than gasoline or electricity.

MPGe is a measurement of how far a car can travel electrically, on the same amount of energy as is contained in 1 gallon of gasoline. While not fast by EV standards, it will get the job done for entering freeways, which is what the e:FCEV will be doing a lot of as it will only be leased in California when it hits dealers in late 2024.
