It was established in 2017 and is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Volvo has been for a long time (although the Polestar 2 is built in China). There are already spaces in New York City and Los Angeles, and there are now two in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I’m located. Still a bit of a mystery.

Val Miftakhov got into the EV game in 2010 when he founded eMotorWerks, which created an innovative smart charging solution and was acquired by the Enel Group in 2017. It was always a personal passion, and I was already working on green transportation, so that was a natural intersection. I think it should have been started in aviation.
