Napa Valley Transportation Authority will receive funding to purchase BYD 30' battery electric buses to replace buses in a comprehensive revitalization of Vine Transit's current revenue vehicle fleet. Hampton Roads Transit will purchase 40-ft Proterra Catalyst E2 Extended Range Electric Buses and associated Depo Plug-in Chargers.

When fully converted, the electric buses on routes 507 and 521 will deliver a reduction of 408 tonnes of CO 2 and 10 tonnes of NO x per year, when compared to single-deck diesel buses. The new buses will join two existing electric buses, manufactured by Chinese company BYD, on the Go Ahead-operated commuter routes in central London.
