Renault and Better Place will commence a joint marketing campaign in the lead up to launch in 2012. It will be sold everywhere in Europe and together with Better Place, in Israel and Denmark. Better Place CEO Evan Thornley, who took over in October 2012 ago after the departure of founding CEO Shai Agassi ( earlier post ), is now out, according to the company. Thornley presented the plan to the board of Israel Corporation, Better Place’s controlling shareholder, in December.

Better Place introduced its electric vehicle (EV) services platform at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in conjunction with Renault’s unveiling of the Fluence ZE Concept with Quickdrop (switchable) battery system and an expanded agreement with Renault, committing both companies to a volume of at least 100,000 electric cars in Israel and Denmark by 2016.
