The California state fleet has reduced its petroleum consumption by 13% compared to a 2003 baseline, according to a state progress report. In 2003, the state fleet consumed 38,559,715 gallons of petroleum-based fuel (gasoline and diesel), according to the report. 42,014 gge of electricity (1%). 216,723 gallons E85 ethanol (6%).

Reuters reports that Chrysler has disbanded its ENVI team, formed in 2007 to bring electric-drive vehicles and related advanced-propulsion technologies to market. In April 2009, Chrysler unveiled four all-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivan concepts to the US Postal Service (USPS) in Washington, DC.

The all-electric MT-45 chassis is expected to go into full production during the first quarter of 2011 and will undergo testing with major US pickup and delivery fleets. FCCC initiated our all-electric project well before stimulus money and federal grants were available for alternative-power transportation projects.
