PECO Expanding Fleet with NGVs & PHEVs

The utility is participating in a national consortium that recently was awarded a federal stimulus grant to purchase plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and the company is buying more trucks to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) as well. The matching stimulus grant will provide up to $2.5 million for the vehicle conversions.

State of Texas to Submit Bid for Battery Consortium

The State of Texas will submit a bid to become the headquarters for an advanced battery consortium that is seeking $1 billion in Federal stimulus money to develop technology for the next generation of hybrid electric vehicles. Initial funding would come from money provided by ARRA 2009 ( earlier post ).
