Total European Union greenhouse gas emissions increased by 0.5% in 2015—the first annual increase since 2010— according to new European Environment Agency (EEA) data. Road transport emissions—about 20% of total EU greenhouse gas emissions—increased for the second year in a row in 2015, by 1.6%.

Average carbon dioxide emissions per kilometer continue to fall in Europe, according to preliminary figures released by the European Environment Agency (EEA). The average CO 2 emissions for these cars was 135.7 The mass of new cars increased slightly in 2011 and is now back to the level seen in 2007 before the economic crisis.

Renault held a “2010 Environment Workshop” last week to showcase its progress across its range of vehicles’ full lifecycle through the Renault eco² program. dCi (type K9K) diesel is the brand’s best-selling engine with almost 900,000 units manufactured in 2009, in Valladolid (Spain) and Bursa (Turkey). New-generation 1.5 dCi engines.

The Autonomous Government of Andalusia and Renault Spain signed a protocol of intentions that aims to promote the development of electric vehicles in the Andalusian region. Renault factories in Spain have been awarded two new models and an engine for 2011-2013, including the car derived from the Twizy Z.E.

At issue is the 2012 expiration of the Kyoto Protocol, a binding but effectively unenforceable 1997 treaty that had set greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets for 40 industrialized countries, referred to as Annex 1 countries, yielding an average GHG reduction of 5.2%
