There are companies that are reinventing the lead-acid battery to make it more competitive with lithium-ion and nickel metal hydride in terms of storage capacity versus weight, durability, and cold weather performance. In the U.S. Firefly Energy is the most prominent of these companies.

One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem. Forget the black helicopter conspiracies.
