Rio launches electric taxi program with Nissan LEAFs

The city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) is launching an electric taxi program, through a partnership between the Rio de Janeiro City Government, Nissan do Brasil Automóveis (NBA) and Petrobras Distribuidora. In the first phase, two Nissan LEAF taxis will be available in Rio. By the end of the year, 13 more units will be added to the fleet.

AC Propulsion signs electric vehicle drivetrain and battery pack supply contract with Beiqi Foton Motor

The contract between the two companies provides that e.motor Advance will deliver 100 sets of its drivetrain and battery pack systems to Foton for their Midi-E electric car.
