Ford Begins Manufacture of EcoBoost Engines at Cleveland Plant

EcoBoost engines, which combine direct injection technology and turbo-charging are a key part of Ford’s overall strategy to improve fuel efficiency and lower CO 2 emissions across its lineup. 1 opened in 1951 as Ford’s first engine plant in Ohio. The plant, idled since 2007, is ramping up pre-production of 3.5-liter liter V-8 family.
