The project will build and install diesel-fueled two-stroke compression-ignition Achates Power Opposed-Piston Engines into Class 8 demonstration trucks that will be road-road ready in 2019 and operate in fleet service in California in 2020. The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved funding of $23,110,015 for projects that will advance the development of green fuels, and the installation of fueling stations. The award recipients are: Clean World Partners, LLC , will receive $6 million to increase the Sacramento BioRefinery’s capacity from 25 tons to 100 tons a day.
