Energix Research executed the GTL process via the syngas and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis route at a high conversion rate (87%) and selectivity rate (99%). Energix expects to develop affordable, micro GTL plants to monetize underutilized resources, such as abandoned natural gas fields, coal bed methane (CBM) fields, flared gases, etc.

Its like having a second fuel tank that you always use first -- only you fill up at home, from a regular outlet, at an equivalent cost of under $1/gallon. In the second study, for the next 20 years, even if, worst-case, we still use lots of coal, nationwide air quality for other emissions will also improve. You dont have to plug it in.

Biofuel projects are going to have trouble getting financing from Wall Street this year because all of them have questions about the long term pricing of petroleum; most of them have concerns about the pricing stability of their feedstocks; and many of the cellulosic projects have concerns about the conversion technologies.

Several dozen prototypes on 15-passenger van since 2004; now in second generation development; no production plans.
